Tractates: Nedarim, Nazir and Sotah from the Babylonian Talmud, with commentaries by Rabbi Alfas and the Ramba"n on Tractate Nedarim. Printed by the grandsons of the rabbi of Slavuta. Zhitomir, 1862-1863.
There are many of the Admo"r's owner's stamps amongst the leaves of the book: "חיים מאיר יחיאל שפירא דראהאביטש (גאליציען" A handwritten signature (possibly the Admo"r's) appears over one of the stamps. A kvittel was inserted among the book's leaves with a name for prayer.
Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapira [1864-1924] was the first Admor of Drohobitch. He was a grandson of the great Chassidic masters - the Saraf Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapira (I) of Moglinitza, the maggid of Kozhitz, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, and the Admo"r of Sadigura. Rabbi Shapira served as an Admo"r and actively promoted settlement of the Land of Israel. He ascended to the Land of Israel in 1922 and established his study hall in Jerusalem. He authored Sefer HaShalom V'HaAchdut (Drohobitch, 1914).
