Haggadah "with Chaldean Translation." Vienna, 1820. Rare Haggadah
Passover Haggadah with Ladino translation (section by section) "and also all the laws of the conduct of the holiday, in Hebrew and in Ladino, and Shir HaShirim in addition, with Chaldean and Ladino translation." Vienna, Schmidt Press, 1820.
The haggadah includes prayers for bedikat chametz and biur chametz and a prayer for before the seder which opens, "Master of the Universe, You know we are flesh ..." The Ladino translation of Shir HaShirim was printed, but not the Chaldean (Aramaic) one. Hymns customarily recited by Askenazic communities are printed at the end of the haggadah, without Ladino translation.
Rare haggadah! Listed in Otzar HaHaggadot no. 618 according to a copy in the Florsheim Collection. Not listed by Ya'ari, and does not appear in the National Library's collection.
40 leaves, 20 cm. A list of books in Ladino and a general list appear on the flyleaf; fine condition. Minimal characteristic wine stains. Jacket cover.
