Pair of Unknown Photographs of the Admo"r Rabbi Chaim Hager of Vizhnitz, Author of 'Imrei Chaim'
Pair of rare and unknown photographs of the Admo"r Rabbi Chaim Hager of Vizhnitz, author ofֲ Imrei Chaim, while he was staying in Naot-Dache.
Both of the photographs were taken at the same occasion, from different directions. The Admo"r is seen sitting on a lounge chair, wearing a floral caftan, immersed in his thoughts. One of his attendants is seen in the background.
The Admo"r Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager [1888-1972] was the fourth Admo"r of the Vizhnitz Chassidic dynasty - one of the largest Chassidic courts in the world. The Admo"r was one of the leaders of Chareidi Jewry, a member of Agudat Yisrael's Council of Torah Sages, and one of the navigators of its path. After his father's passing in 1936, he was appointed successor as Admo"r of Vizhnitz. In Elul 1947, he ascended to the Land of Israel and resurrected Vizhnitz Chassidism. He built Kiryat Vizhnitz in Bnei Brak and established institutions of Torah and chessed. He was known as a kabbalist and wonder-worker.
