Collection of essays and publications concerning Assyriology and "Babel and the Bible". [Europe], 1894-1905. A volume with about 11 essays and publications bound together. Some were delivered as lectures and were printed afterwards. The essays concern assyriology and the culture of Babel and the Bible. Most essays refer to the series of publications by Assyriology scholar Friedrich Delitzsch – "Babel and the Bible", in which he claimed that the source of the Book of Genesis is found in ancient Babylonian myths. These publications led to polemic reactions on the part of scholars, rabbis and theologians. Among the essays is one composed by Delitzsch himself. 11 essays bound together. Average size: 23 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and wear. Damage to binding.
