1. SeferMegalehTzfonut Part 1, on the Book of Bereshit, by Rabbi Eliyahu HaCohenHaItamari, author of "ShevetMussar" and "Midrash Talpiot" - first edition Izmir 1857. [2], 145 [supposed to be 144] pages. No binding. Moth damage and severe moisture damage. Bad general condition. Ownership signature on title page: "Young Nissim Avraham Ashkenazi". 2. SeferMa'asehRakam, by Rabbi Yitzchak Koriat of Tituan, who immigrated to Jerusalem. First edition, Pisa 1806. [2], 86 pages. No binding, detached pages, moth damage and moisture. Overall condition - poor. Ownership signature on title page: "Young Nissim Avraham Ashkenazi" 3. EiniEida book, part one on SeferBereshit, Shemot and Megillat Esther, by Rabbi Eliyahu HaCohenHaItamari, author of "ShevetMussar" and "Midrash Talpiot" - first edition Izmir 1863. [2], 164 pages. Tear with damage to text on title page. No binding. Detached leaves, numerous moth damage and various tears with text damage. Overall condition - poor. Handwritten inscription on title page: "A gift given by the benefactor who dedicates to the Beit Avraham Yeshiva of Yakov, from Rabbi Nechmad to Rabbi [Rabbi Nissim Avraham Ashkenazi]." 4. Title page and first four pages of Sefer Yosef Tehillot, the commentary on Psalms byRabbeinuHaChida–first edition, Livorno 1801. Much moth damage. General poor condition. Ownership signature on title page: "Young Rafael Ashkenazi". 5. SeferOlatAharon, by Rabbi Aharon Zelig ben YoelFeibish of Ostraha - first edition Offenbach 1733. [2], 28 pages. Lots of moth damage, detached title page, worn binding. Generally bad condition. Note of ownership on title page: I bought, Nissim Avraham Ashkenazi." Another signature: "A young man of blessed memory" [Rabbi Ya'akovShaulElyashar?] Rabbi Nissim Avraham Ashkenazi (died 15 Elul 1860), was the son of Rabbi Raphael [Rabbi of Izmir, grandson of Rabbi Eliyahu Hako author of "RuachEliyahu”, author of “Mar’ehEinayim". Probably his signature on one of the books before us]. One of the greatest rabbis of Izmir, a contemporary of Rabbi Chaim Palagi, with whom he also sat in judgment and led the holy community in Izmir. He married Rachel Roche. She had 18 pregnancies, but their children did not survive long and died in their youth. His house was a home for scholars and an open house for benevolence to all the people of the city. Wrote extensive and wide literature, some of which was published in his day, and part was published by his nephews. Among his books: "NechmadLeReh" - commentary on the Yerushalmi, the act of Abraham - responsa on the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch, "Darash Avraham" - sermons and commentaries on the Torah, Ne'ehDoresh - various sermons, Ne’ehLehodot—commentary on Psalms.
