Bereshit, A, (no other parts were published). Moscow-Leningrad, 1926. Printed by Gutenberg Press. Berlin. "Illustration on title page: Y. Tchikov [Yosef Tchaikov]. Illustration of publishing house logo: B. Shovin". Literary anthology containing works by Isaac Babel, Yocheved Bat Miriam, Gershon Chanowitz and others. Front cover illustration in the Russian avant-garde style by Joseph Tchaikov. The writers' group that published the book was unable to find a printing press in the Soviet Union prepared to print a Hebrew book, and the manuscript was therefore sent to Berlin for printing. Only a small portion of the printed copies were allowed into the Soviet Union. [1], 199, [5] pp, 23 cm. Good condition. Stains and several stamps. Stains, blemishes and small tears to the binding.
