Russian lottery ticket - Ozette, USSR 1929
2 Albarbandische Gesherd-Lehtrei - Russian lottery ticket no. 0029329 on behalf of Uzet [a public company for the promotion of the agricultural conversion project of Jews working in the Soviet Union] with captions in Yiddish and Russian.
In the foreground is a figure riding a tractor, the year 1929, and the Russian sickle emblem with captions in Yiddish and Russian. on the back rules and the profit brackets.
The "Ozeet" (Organization for the Settlement of the Working Jews) was active in the Soviet Union between 1925 and 1938, with the aim of encouraging agricultural settlement among the Jews of the Soviet Union and finding suitable places for settlement. In 1928 he took over the organization of Jewish settlement in Birobidzhan.
