6th-7th century AD
A bronze bow brooch comprising a D-shaped headplate with five radiating knops, shallow ribbed bow, tongue-shaped footplate with lateral knops and beast-head finial, impressed roundel detailing; catchplate and hinge lugs to reverse. 16.3 grams, 6.5cm (2 1/2"). Very fine condition.

Private collection, Cambridgeshire, UK; acquired prior to 2000.
