Chinese Polychrome Neolithic Jar

3rd millennium BC
A good size terracotta jar with broad domed shoulder and tapering body, flared rim and loop handles below the equator, painted bands of decoration to the shoulder and lattice to the body. 2.5 kg, 31cm (12 1/4"). Fine condition.
Provenance
From the property of a London gentleman; formerly in a UK collection, acquired in the 1990s.
