Itzchak Belfer. The Holocaust: Paintings and Drawings

Unpaginated 56 pp. DJ, hard cover, 33 x 24 cm., b/w illustrations throughout.
With a short introduction in Hebrew, Yiddish and English
Condition: DJ worn, rubbed, small tears to edges,
rubbing to edges of hard cover. Some foxing to endpapers,
small single foxing stains to edges of several pages
Belfer was brought up in the Janusz
Korczak Home in Warsaw. He escaped to the forest ahead of the establishment of
the Ghetto. After the war he was interned on Cyprus before he was able to reach
Israel. His art training began in Cyprus and continued in Israel. The works
here are grim ink drawings with a rough texture.
