Autobiographical work by R. Meir Berlin (Bar Ilan), son of R. Naftali Tzvi Yehuda, the Netziv. Includes important (often overlooked) historical information about the Volozhin Yeshiva and its leaders including R. Chaim Ha’Levy Soloveitchik, R. Refoel Schapiro and others. Includes 10 high quality glossy pictures. This edition includes material that was removed from subsequent editions.
R. Meir Berlin (Bar-Ilan) (1880-1949), was born in Volozhin and studied in the great Yeshivos of Volozhin, Telshe, Brisk and together with his grandfather, the Oruch Ha’Shulchon in Novardok. In 1905, he joined the Mizrachi movement soon becoming one of its most prominent voices and eventually its leader. He co-founded the Encyclopedia Talmudis project and wrote many of the entries in the first two volumes.
