Ateret Zekeinim/Tzurat HaYesodot - Amsterdam, 1739
Ateret Zekeinim, with the booklet "Tzurat HaYesodot" by Don Yitzchak Abarbanel. Amsterdam, 1739. Second edition.
In the book 'Ateret Zekeinim' the Abarbanel explains portions in the Torah which are difficult to understand, especially verses which mention angels, while discussing the words of Maimonides in the book the Guide for the Perplexed.
In 'Tzurat HaYesodot' the Abarbanel explains the form of the foundations of nature while debating with the Greek scholars and the Moslem scholars [Ibn Sina and others] who were influenced by the natural scholars of ancient Greece.
Printed in the printing press and home of the orphans of the deceased Shlomo Katz. Ownership inscription on the title page: The small one Moshe Shatz Katz... First edition of the book was printed in Sabbioneta in 1557. Before us is the second edition.
On page 52 is an engraving of the priestly blessing, with the name of the printer: "Proops" (who were priests).
