With commentary of Rashi (except Lamentations which has the commentary of Joseph ben Simeon Kara). Biblical text in square type with Nikud. Commentary in rabbinic type without Nikud. Initial words panel within decorative white vine metalcut border. ff. 59 (of 62). First leaf of Ecclesiastes and final leaves of Daniel and Nehemiah expertly reproduced in facsimile. Lightly stained in places, some worming, mostly in final quire, ff. 8 and 18 strengthened at gutter and remargined, ff. 37r-38v with marginalia, minor tears repaired, ex-library stamps. Comprises: Song of Songs: ff.1v-8r, f. 8v blank; Ecclesiastes: ff. 9r-18r, 18v blank; Esther: ff. 19r-23v; Ruth: ff. 24r-26v; Lamentations: ff. 27r-30v; Daniel: ff. 31r-43v; Ezra: ff. 44r-52r; Nehemiah: 52r-62r. Lacking only the Book of Job (see lot 30) and Chronicles - Psalms having been printed separately (see lot 29). These eight Biblical Books form the heart of the final section of the Hebrew Bible (Hagiographa).
