Teshuvoth HaGeonim [Geonic responsa]. With commentary Iyei Hayam by Israel Moshe Hazan.
First edition of commentary. A wide margined copy. With
extensive scholarly marginalia in Sephardic and Ashkenazic hands. ff. (2), 120. Ex-library, slight staining, first two leaves and final four leaves from a shorter copy, opening endpapers with pencil notes. Contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, rubbed. 4to.

E. Ben Amzog, Livorno: 1869.

The knowledgeable marginal notes contain a wide range of citations from the Rishonim and other Gaonic responsa. Some of the Sephardic notes are transcribed on the same page in a later Ashkenazic hand (see f. 5a et al).
