New York, : 1950-53.

The American-Jewish couple Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were accused and eventually found guilty of furnishing United States atomic secrets to the Soviet Union. Despite an intense international campaign seeking clemency from President Eisenhower, the Rosenbergs were executed. They were the first and only Americans to receive the death penalty for Cold War espionage activity.
