By Rabbi Moshe Simchah Cohen, av”d Dvinsk, author of the
Ohr Sameach.
On his deathbed in the hospital in Riga, the author gave this book to Rabbi Menachem Mendel Zaks, av”d Riga and asked him to print it. Rabbi Zaks fulfilled this request and printed the work. Rabbi Meir Simchah was an unusual genius and a prominent Lithuanian rabbi before the Holocaust. He is known by the name of his work on the Rambam, which amazed the Torah leaders of his generation with its unique approach, originality and magnificent knowledge of all sections of the Torah.
The book is one of the most popular Torah commentaries and has been printed in many editions. This first edition is very rare.
