First, important and rare edition of one of the monumental works of biblical study. The work on the book marks a new era in the development of historical geography in the light of the Bible. The American philologist Edward Robinson (1794-1863) is considered a founding figure in the field of biblical geography and archeology. In 1838 he came to Palestine with Eli Smith, and the two were able to identify many biblical places. This edition won the gold medal of the Royal Geographical Society. Three volumes including 5 folding maps. Original leather bindings.
English, 679 + 571 + 248 pages, good general condition: there are defects in the covers, including tears in the spines. 22X15 cm.
