Rabbi Aharon David Deutsch (1812-1878) was one of the great rabbonim of Hungary and one of the greatest outstanding  disciples of the Chasam Sofer. He was known as a miracle worker. When people of his community and its surroundings would come to receive the blessings of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, he would tell them "Why are people coming to me- they can travel the Gaon and tzaddik of Balassagyarmat- who is in your close proximity". (Responsa Goren Dovid volume II page 313).

He was one of the most uncompromising and most important leaders of Orthodoxy who firmly opposed the rabbinical seminary. He was in sympathy with the Chasidism, although he did not adopt all their tenets. As typical of his views may be quoted the facts that he declared it sinful to pray in a synagogue in which the Bima was not in the center. He served as Av Beis Din of Balassagyarmat for 27 years, until his passing.

Author of 'Goren David'.

The recipient Rabbi Meir Halevi Jungreis was the son of Rabbi Shraga Feish Rabbi of Setche. A disciple of the Goren David & Maran the Csav Sofer.

He married the daughter of R' Aaron Buchler of Filek & lived there (some sources write he was Rabbi there). Later Rabbi of Rimaszombat until his passing at a young age in 1882. His widow married Rabbi Meir Tenenbaum Rabbi in Putnok.
