A unique lot includes the first cover of The New Yorker Magazine, February 26, 1990, by Rea Irvin (American, 1881-1972).The painting was made according to a well known engraving, which depicted the Comte dOrsay, a Frenchman who lived in England. This gentleman received the fictitious name of Eustas Tilley, which was invented for him by the American comedian Corey Ford.
