HANDMADE ITALY SORRENTO MARQUETRY WOODEN BOXES
A set of three Italian handmade wooden marquetry boxes. Marquetry is a technique of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns with a smooth surface. Each box has its own elaborate ornament with painted details and a figurative emblem in the center of the cover. The biggest box is a mechanical music box with velvet padding and a plastic ballerina figurine inside. The lot also includes three antique Italian photographs from Spezia. Portrait of a man with a moustache, executed by Morotti. Two portraits of small girls, according to the inscription on the back - sisters Laurina and Linda Cafiero, executed by Borgaio.
