An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Mother of God, All Who Sorrow Joy. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on A wood board. Inscribed upper left and right. Circa: 19th century. The name of the icon of the Mother of God, revered in the Russian Orthodox Church miraculous. The icon depicts the Mother of God in the radiance of the mandorla, surrounded by people overwhelmed by sacrifices and sorrows, and angels doing good deeds on her behalf. Antique Russian religious items and collectibles.
