Famed for his halachic work, Arugas HaBosem, R. Moshe Greenwald was one of the greatest rabbis of Hungary at the end of the 19th century. He was the Rabbi of Khust (now, western Ukraine) and progenitor of the Pupa Chasidic dynasty through his son Rabbi Ya’akov Yechezkiah (Vayaged Ya’akov, 1882–1941).
