A collection of responsa, and letters by the Rambam responding to halachic queries from around the world, corresponding with sages from various countries from the East to the West from Eretz Yisroel, France, Spain, Yemen and Babylonia.

The Rambam’s letters and responsa constitute a treasure trove of halachah, and principles of Jewish faith and belief.

This collection encompasses both ‘halachic responsa’ as well as responses to challenges, questions, and arguments on his rulings in Mishnah Torah which he was asked to clarify and qualify. The ‘Letters’ concern the foundations of Jewish faith, as well as additional writings referring to the debate regarding the Rambam’s sefarim.

The most famous among these responsa are letters that he wrote to the sages of Lonil, and his responsum to Rabbi Pinchas of Alexandria which includes vital foundations that facilitate the understanding of his magnum opus Mishnah Torah.
