Sefer Tehillim with Alshich HaKadosh’s Commentary. First Edition. Venice, 1605
Sefer Tehillim with the famous commentary of the Alshich “Romemus Kel” surrounding the actual text of Tehillim. Published by the Alshich’s son Harav Chaim Alshich and includes his preface.
The works of the Alshich HaKadosh were beloved throughout the Diaspora for many generations. Learning the Alshich became known as a
segulah after the Alshich Hakadosh appeared in a dream to a man who delved into the Alshich’s works and warned him of the impending danger of the Cossack riots of 1648-49. (See the beginning of Kitzur Alshich; Amsterdam , 1698. And Shem HaGedolim letter mem, number 101.)
Venice, 1605.
First edition. (Aside from Ch. 1-41 which were first published under the name
Tapuchei Zahav, 1597). 310 leaves. Page size: 20 cm. Small tears in the title page with minor damage to text professionally restored. Leaves 153-156 were completed from another copy and margins restored. New leather binding.
Rare to find this sefer in such fine condition and level of completion.
