Satmar 28th October 1935

Born in Ungvar, R. Aharon Roth became renowned as a supremely pious and ascetic rabbinic leader. With close connections to the Admorim of Belz and Vizhnitz, he attracted a following at a young age, establishing a pietist community in Satmar entitled Shomer Emunim. He relocated to Eretz Israel in 1939 and settled in Meah She'arim. His ideological successors lead such groups as Shomer Emunim, Toldos Aharon, Toldos Avraham Yitzchak, Mevakshei Emunah and Nachlas Aharon.
