A RUSSIAN SILVER AND GUILLOCHE ENAMEL CROSS, 1900
Russian Imperial silver cross covered with red guilloche enamel and white enamel. Probably it is the distinctive sign of the sisters of mercy. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard next to a female head in a kokoshnik turned to the right; the maker's initials: "V.D."(Cyrillic). Complete with a gold-tone chain. Circa 1900.
Dimensions: L (cross): 3 x 2 3/8 in., (7.6 x 6 cm.)
Condition: very good, some enamel wear on one side of the cross
