AN ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX SILVER ICON, 19TH C.
A late 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of St Pantaleon. Oil painting on wood with 84 silver standard riza (oklad), decorated with niello and engraved. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard next to a woman's head in a kokoshnik turned to the left and the maker's mark AZ (Cyrillic), possibly for Arkady Zotov silversmith.
Dimensions: 2 3/4 x 2 1/4 in.
