Sefer Amud HaTorah—first edition, Lviv (Lemberg) 1853
First edition of the book on kabbalah and chassidut by Rabbi Yehuda Zvi Eichenstein of Razdil, author of “Da’at Kedoshim.” Decorated with the endorsement of Rabbi Haim Halberstam, the Divrei Haim of Sanz. The author’s widow was the daughter of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov, who brought the book to publication and writes at the end, “thanks to my holy ancestors and that of my husband, the book will stand in your defense and protect your children forever…” Stefanski Chassidut 465. Rabbi Yehuda Zvi Eichenstein of Radzil (1791-1848), son of Rabbi Moshe of Sambor and son-in-law of the Sar Beit HaZohar—Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov, father-in-law of Rabbi Yehezkel Shraga, the Divrei Yehezkel of Sinoa, known for his great abstinence and complete disconnection from this world, his great work in the revealed and mystical Torah. It is accepted that this book was written when he was adorned in his tallit and tefillin while he remained locked in his room without distraction. Moth damage. Moisture stains.
