Pair American Cut Glass Decanters with Silver Tags,
Each decanter cut in a pattern of fans, hobstars and strawberry diamonds, notched neck and star-cut base, fitted with silver bottle tags pierced "Brandy" and "Sherry, " each tag marked LEONORE DOSKOW/ HANDMADE STERLING; the Sheffield plate coasters, Blagden, Hodgson & Co, Nursery Street, Sheffield, Circa 1821, each fitted with a turned hardwood base, marked MADE IN ENGLAND. Height of decanters 11 1/2 inches.
Leonore B. Doskow was born in Philadelphia to Leo and Hannah Bernheimer. After graduating from Bryn Matwr College she became a silversmith, married David M. Doskow and moved to New York City. They formed a business partnership under the name Leonore Doskow, Inc. Leonore worked until the age of 75 and then went on to do volunteer work and paint.
