FRIEDRICH FRANEK
(1891 - 1976) Generalleutnant and Austrian general in the armed forces of Nazi Germany during World War II. After the Anschluss, Franek transferred to the German armed forces. In the summer of 1944, Franek was commanding the German 73rd Infantry Division as the Red Army was advancing through Poland. Signed black-and-white photograph of Franek with Generalmajor Bernd von Doering, signed in black ink as Generalleutnant a.D. 3.25 x 4.25 inches.
