ALBERT SPEER 1942 INSCRIBED REICHSKANZLEI BOOK
(1905 - 1981) German architect, Adolf Hitler’s personal chief architect and minister for armaments and war production. Speer expanded slave labor, supplied mainly from concentration camps. Convicted at Nuremberg and served a 20-year sentence at Spandau Prison in West Berlin. Albert Speer's famous book 'Die Neue Reichskanzlei' (The New Reich Chancellery). Speer signs and inscribes his book in blue ink on the half-title page: 'Herrn Hermann Gerlich [?] zur Erinnerung an die Spanienfahrt 1941 herzlich zugeeignet Albert Speer Berlin, den 10.I.1942.' (In memory of the trip to Spain 1941 warmly dedicated Albert Speer). Published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachf., Munich, 132 pages, bound in blue cloth, gilt title and Reichsadler on the cover, with original dustjacket, folio, heavily illustrated throughout with many color and b/w photographs, floor plans and elevation drawings of the Reichskanzlei. Very light stain on the lower half of the half-title page. Lightly bumped corners.
