A set of memorabilia of Mikołaj Morgun, a platoon member of the Polish Army in the West during World War II. he took part in the 1939 war in Poland. After September 17, 1939, he was taken prisoner by the invading Russian troops, allied with Germany. Until the outbreak of the German-Russian war, he stayed in Soviet camps. Then, on the basis of an agreement between the Polish and Russian governments, he joined the Polish Army that was being formed on the territory of the USSR. He stayed in the centers of formation in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara. Then, together with the Polish Army, he was evacuated to Iran, and then to Iraq and Palestine. Together with the 2nd Polish Corps, he took part in the battles in Italy, including at Monte Cassino. He was awarded the Polish Cross of Valor for the Italian campaign. After the end of the war, he returned to Poland in 1948. The set includes photos and documents. The documents include: 1. identity card from 1935, 2. certificate of decoration with the cross of valor with the date 15 March 1945, 3. commemorative card of the Monte Cassino cross, 4. card of the commemorative badge of the 2nd Polish Corps, 5. card for the British decorations - Gwiazda for the 1939-1945 war, and Gwiazda Italii, 6th demobilization certificate from 1947, 7th military certificate of exemption from compulsory military service issued in Poland in 1954, 8th two certificates of arrival in Poland in 1949. All documents have been laminated. Additionally, the set includes 48 photos from the period of military service during World War II in Africa and Italy. In addition, 48 postcards and photos.
