Prussian uniform NCO Lauenburgisches Fußartillerie-Regiment Nr.20 (Lauenburg Foot Artillery Regiment No. 20)

Until 1872 the foot artillery was still called fortress artillery.
In peacetime it was organized as a regiment.
During the First World War, the foot artillery was initially used in battalions and later only in batteries.
It was very seldom that a regiment-wise deployment took place.
Only after the reorganization under Hindenburg and Ludendorff were the units deployed again in battalions.

Collar with two large Prussian coat of arms button.
The cuffs with the black horizontal panel around the circumference of the cuff piped in Ponceaurot with thrre buttons.
The Prussiasn-pattern shoulder straps with a 3th Company button.

Preußische Schützenabzeichen 1. Stufe / Klasse wollene Schnur mit Eichel fur die Artillerie. (Prussian rifle badge 1st level / class woolen cord with acorn for the artillery.)
This rifle cord was awarded to the qualified soldier, accompanied by a certificate.
The rifle cord ran from the outside of the right shoulder to the second button on top.
It was attached to a small horn button under the shoulder flap (In this case, it is attached to the company button), to the uniform itself to the second button from the top.
A 2nd class iron cross ribbon is sewn into the same buttonhole.
The lanyard is made of heavy red, white and black cord braided.
