Sifra Detzniuta with commentary by the Vilna Gaon. Vilna and Horodna, 1820. The first edition of the Gra’s commentary to Sifra Detzniuta. This book is one of the fundamental books for learning and understanding the Gra’s Kabbalistic teachings.
This copy has several Kabbalistic glosses, some of which are quite long, in Rashi script (Ashkenazi). The gloss on leaf 20a discusses the Gra’s teachings on the Final Redemption and the coming of Mashiach at the end of a Shemita year, and states “in my humble opinion this refers to the 7th century of the 6th millennium…and if we are meritorious… this could be 5600 (1840), truly, which is a Shemita year.”
