*Highlight* 1842-o Liberty $2 1/2 Graded ms61
***Auction Highlight*** 1842-o Gold Liberty Quarter Eagle $2 1/2 Graded ms61 By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT - Clean surfaces from handling as the fields and Liberty's cheek show no heavy marks. Lustrous too, as much as the New Orleans Mint could produce that year as this issue is notorious for its poor strikes, as seen here. Mintage of 19,800 pieces and perhaps a dozen or two can claim this grade level or finer. One of the condition rarities that is rarely encountered this well preserved. I have included 2 other ms61 examples to illustrate the strike issues that plagued this issue. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
