*Highlight* 1802 S-231 Draped Bust 1c Graded au58+
***Auction Highlight*** 1802 S-231 Draped Bust Large Cent 1c Graded au58+ By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT OF THE ENTIRE AUCTION - Up for Auction is a Nearly Mint State 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent Sheldon 231, No Stems Variety. Breen Die State IX, heavily cracked and clashed. The surfaces display glossy, burgundy-brown color without evidence of environmental damage. There is a small mark within the reverse bow and there are a few others in the left obverse field. Otherwise, there is not much to limit the grade other than slightly muted luster. The strike is bold, even, and well-centered. Fading dentils around portions of the rims is due to die failure in this latest-known state. I have included 2 other examples for your comparison. I will note that the au58+ sold by Goldbergs, Goldberg disagreed with the grade and called it an ms60. I think ours is nicer. As you will see, I also think ours is as nice if not nicer than the NGC ms61. Superb Coin. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
