Rarely found traceable WWII Purple Heart numbered 88993 belonging to Staff Sergeant Thornton W. Elliott, who as a Private serving in the 1st Armored Division was wounded in North Africa in January 1943 earning this medal. The medal number traces to his name in General Order #3 of the 1st Armored Division. Comes with an email from the researcher who has access to the number records, as well as copies of research on him. He tragically died in 1950 in an accident in Lake Tahoe, California.
