HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT - Up for Auction is a superb 1812 Capped Bust Half Dollar, O-103, Which holds the lone spot as #2 in the condition census, NGC ms66. The coin is tied for 4th finest in the date, and it holds the #2 spot alone for the variety. The coin tied for 3rd in the condition census, which is tied with 4 other coins sold recently for $21,000. This example is a full point higher graded, by the same service. I am including the ms65 example and its auction results. The coin at hand has spectacular luster, thick and rick painted over both sides. A crisp strong strike and toning that is beautiful with colors ranging from yellow to orange through the reds and purples. The reverse has a more target toning of the same wonderful spread of colors.
