A RUSSIAN WATERCOLOR PAINTING BY ALEXANDRE BENOIS
Alexandre Nikolaevich Benois (Russian, 1870 - 1960) gouache and watercolor painting on paper, Versailles, 1899. Signed with initials and dated lower right. Framed. The gilded plate showing the engraving with the artist's name, lower to the center of the frame. Alexandre Benois is a Russian artist, art historian, art critic, founder and chief ideologist of the World of Art association.
