Pair of "Rams-Horn" Strap Hinges, Massachusetts, 18th c
Matched pair of 18th century, hand-forged, iron strap hinges, each approximately 13 ½ x 33 ½ inches, the outer faces now covered with an oil-based green paint, with what appears to be the original white lead paint underneath.
Provenance: 2018 estate sale at the Plummer House c. 1700) on the Lower Green, home of the Plumer-Humphreys-Barton family that first settled Newbury, Massachusetts, in the early 1600s.
