A Fine Massachusetts Chippendale Mahogany Oxbow Chest
With blocked ends, Boston or coastal Massachusetts, 1775-1795. Height 32.5 inches, width 33.125 inches, depth 21.5 inches. In original condition, old surface and patina.
Provenance: Nathan Liverant and Son Antiques, Colchester, CT; Israel Sack, Inc, illustrated in Brochure $16, December 1968; a 19th or early 20th century chalk inscription on the backboard reads "C. Adams, Toy Shop & Variety Store." Illustrated: Israel Sack Volume 2, figure 1112, page 445.
