On the title page of the book is the signature of
R' Yisrael Binyamin Bassan– from the city of Reggio. R’ Israel, son of Rabbi Isaiah Bassan, was born in 5460 [1700].
He wrote a commentary on his father's book “Todat Shlamim”.
A disciple of the holy Ramchal. The Ramchal zt”l composed a special song in honor of R' Yisrael Binyamin on his wedding day.
Died in 5550 [1790].
One page of the book was completed in the special script of scribes, and one has to wonder, perhaps it is in Rabbi Bassan’s handwriting.
