Rabbi Yosef Witzenhausen was a famous Dutch scholar. He lived during the 17th Century in Holland. Rabbi Witzenhausen toiled a decade-long to translate the entire Tanach to Judeo-German - 'Teitch'. In addition, from 1672, he assisted in publishing the Jewish newspaper, 'Gazzetta di Amsterdam'.

This book is divided into two parts: up to The Book of Samuel, and from the Book of Samuel until the end.

This copy includes a rare copper engraving preceding the title page.
