1-2. Responsa Knesset Yechezkel, by R. Yechezkel Katzenellenbogen, rabbi of Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbek. Altona, [1732]. First edition.
Bound with: Be'er Yaakov, novellae on all four parts of Shulchan Aruch, by R. Yaakov Berlin. Fürth, 1767. First edition. Engraved title page.
Inscription and signature of R. Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich Rabbi of Shamloi on the front endpaper, with the stamp of his son "Chaim Ehrenreich" (also appearing on both title pages). Early Ashkenazi signatures and various ownership inscriptions on the title pages of both books.
Stamps of R. Yaakov Landau Rabbi of Bnei Brak.
Handwritten glosses in both books, including lengthy glosses, mostly handwritten by R. Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich. Several pieces of paper with Torah thoughts in his handwriting found between the pages of the books.
Knesset Yechezkel: 130 leaves. Be'er Yaakov: [2], 144 leaves. 30 cm. Overall fair condition. First leaves and several other leaves in fair-poor condition. Stains, including significant dampstains. Wear. Extensive worming affecting text. Several detached leaves and gatherings. Open tears to several leaves, affecting text and title page border, repaired with paper. Leaves trimmed with damage to text in several places. Stamps and handwritten inscriptions. Old binding, damaged and detached.

R. Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich Rabbi of Tshaba and Shamloi (1863-1944), leading halachic authority and prominent Orthodox rabbi in Hungary. Close disciple of the Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet.
