Rosh David, novellae and homiletics on the Torah portions, by R. Chaim Yosef David Azulai - the Chida. Mantua, [1776]. First edition.
The only book of the Chida printed in Mantua. He published the rest of his books in Livorno (apart from the Chomat Anach commentary printed in Pisa).
Inscriptions on the title page and following leaf. Many glosses in square script. Lengthy gloss in cursive Sephardic script on p. 93 (trimmed), signed by R. Yosef Bechor Benveniste (1840-1916; emissary and Torah scholar in Jerusalem, head of the Sephardi Beit Din in Jerusalem from 1900).
Stamps of R. Yaakov Landau Rabbi of Bnei Brak.
