On the title page, handwritten dedication by the author - the Chida.
Bound with Emet LeYaakov, by R. Yaakov Yisrael Algazi. Constantinople, [1764]. This book, which also contains the laws and customs pertaining to Torah scroll, served as basis for the Chida's LeDavid Emet.
Signature and stamp of R. Aharon son of R. Nissim Yisrael Sasson in the book Emet LeYaakov. Other ownership inscriptions.
Two books in one volume. Emet LeYaakov: [2], 154 leaves; LeDavid Emet: 76 leaves. 14.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Extensive worming affecting text (significant damage to Emet LeYaakov). Tears to several leaves. Title page of LeDavid Emet stuck to preceding page (at inner margin), with damage to text. Several detached leaves. Original leather binding, with gilt decorations, damaged and partially detached.
