Letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zevin.
Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zevin [1885 - 1978] received ordination to the rabbinate from the Rogochover Gaon and Rabbi Yechiel Michel Epstein. He served in the Russian rabbinate in the harsh period after the communist revolution and even took an active role in the battle to guard the spark of religion in Soviet Russia under the leadership of the Admor of Lubavitch. Immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1934. Tremendous scholar, member of the Chief Rabbinical Council of Israel, first editor of the Talmudic Encyclopedia and first chairman of the Chabad rabbinical court in the Land of Israel.
