From 1919 to 1939, Tiegenhof was the county seat of the Großes Werder district in the Free State of Danzig.
From 1871 to 1918 and from 1939 to 1945 the city belonged to the German Empire.
The town of Tiegenhof has belonged to Poland since 1945 and is now called Nowy Dwor Gdanski (New Court near Danzig).
