Shiv'im Tikkunei HaZohar - Chemdat Tzvi. Amsterdam. 1706. Signature of Renowned Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Shaul Dwek HaKohen, on the Book Suspected of Sabbateanism
Shiv'im Tikkunei HaZohar with the Chemdat Tzvi commentary by Rabbi Tzvi Chotesh. Amsterdam, 1706. Only edition.
The book's author was suspected of Sabbateanism, and the Ya'avetz has already written about this. There area those who found a hint in the pictures on the book's title page that imply that the author is Sabbatean, such as the deer images and more. With important approbations, led by that of Rabbi Naftali HaKohen Katz, author of Semichut Chachamim. Yet in the introduction to a different edition of Tikkunei HaZohar, Rabbi Naftali Katz wrote that he is rescinding the approbation to this book.
The book;s title page bears a signature from the renowned Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Shaul Dwek HaKohen - "HaRav HaSade"h" - a leading Kabbalist, chief rabbi of Aleppo and head of the Beit El and Rechovot HaNahar Kabbalistic yeshivahs.
Is this here a proof that the renowned Kabbalist of Aleppo and Jerusalem felt that the book is kosher?
There are several glosses along the leaves of the book; they have not been examined.
8, 164 leaf, 33 cm.
Moderate condition, worming perforations. The title page is ripped and lacking, torn from the book.
