My Throat is Caught and I cannot Raise my Voice for Torah and Divine Service" - Touching Letter from the Admo"r of Kotzk-Sokolov. Sivan, 1914
Lengthy letter (approximately 28 lines) handwritten and signed by the Admo"r Rabbi Yitzchak Zelig of Kotzk-Sokolov. [20 Sivan] 1914, Sokolov.
In this letter, the Admo"r appeals to two community leaders and complains that they are delaying their mission; he demands with characteristic Kotzker firmness - "Carry out this mission immediately ... and send me the funds as they come in." The Admo"r then relates his intention to travel to a spa town due to his tremendous weakness, "because my throat is caught and I cannot raise my voice in Torah and Divine service."
In the second half of the letter, the Admo"r requests that one of his close associates stand at his right side to support him. He concludes, "May Hashem grant you an abundance of blessing and life."
